Smithfield and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) will donate 100,000 servings of protein to the Portland Police Sunshine Division on Thursday, October 27, at 10:30 a.m.
Smithfield and the UFCW will address the need for hunger relief in the Portland area and will continue their efforts coast-to-coast to donate and deliver more than 1,600,000 pounds of protein (more than 6,400,000 servings) each year for the next two years, helping families and individuals become more food secure.
Safeway, a longstanding retail partner of Smithfield and a dedicated supporter of the Sunshine Division will also participate in the program.

About Sunshine Division Since 1923, the Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division has been providing emergency food and clothing relief to Portland families and individuals in need. Whether due to the loss of a job, domestic crime, illness, or victims of fire or disaster, the Sunshine Division has built an 88-year legacy of mobilizing quickly and efficiently to assist distressed Portlanders.
