The pedestrian killed in this morning's fatal crash at Northeast 60th and Killingsworth has been identified as 63-year-old Mary Anne Turner of Northeast Portland, shown in the photo.
Investigators learned that a vehicle driven by 87-year-old Helen Quimiro of Northeast Portland was travelling westbound on Northeast Killingsworth and had a green light at Northeast 60th Avenue. Turner 30-40 feet from a crosswalk when she was struck as she was crossing from the north side of Killingsworth to the south side. After striking Turner, Quimiro continued driving westbound from the crash site. She then struck three parked cars, and continued driving away from the scene. Officers soon located the car and found Quimiro at her residence in the 6000 block of Northeast 37th Avenue. Officers called for medical personnel because they believed that she, the driver, might have suffered some kind of medical problem.
Medical personnel treated and released Quimiro at the scene and she cooperated fully with investigators.
No arrests have been made at this point and the case will be referred to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.
